WITS. I have taken part in the Writers in the Schools (WITS) program, run by the Writer's Federation of Nova Scotia for over ten years. "The program offers both in-person and virtual author visits to elementary and secondary schools in Nova Scotia, as well as extracurricular Creative Writing Day Camps."

The following is my WITS presentation description. It is based on the Terrible Horrible Smelly Beach.

"Jacqueline mixes pirates, mermaids, littered beaches and songs into a fun environmental program for younger grades. There are pictures of real beach clean-ups and a fun show-and-touch quiz in which students decide on what should and shouldn't be on the beach. There is also a garbage jelly-fish craft if time allows. For older grades, her Explosion Newsie reading is supplemented with slides and true stories."
