Writers in the Schools
I love reading out loud, and find taking part in the Writer's Federation of Nova Scotia, Writers in the Schools Program (WITS) is a wonderful and rewarding experience. My specialty is historical fiction for younger readers.
My presentation includes a reading, storytelling, a slideshow of my research, and tips for students doing their own research. There are lots of opportunities for questions. Of course I love pirates too. My piratical presentation for younger grades includes an animated reading, pirate rhymes, some riddles and maybe a mermaid story. Bookings for WITS visits usually takes place in September.
Yeah!!!! For the 21/22 school year WITS visits can be in person or on-line. Please check the WFNS website for more information. (http://writers.ns.ca/)
ps. I prefer in-person.
Also available this year is my short WITS video entitled: "BE A RESEARCH DETECTIVE" It contains lots of ideas and research tips for elementary school students.
