Writers in the Schools
I love reading out loud, and find taking part in the Writer's Federation of Nova Scotia, Writers in the Schools
Program (WITS) is a wonderful and rewarding experience. My specialty is historical fiction for younger readers.
My presentation includes a reading, storytelling, a slideshow of my research and tips for students doing their own research. There are lots of opportunities for questions. Of course I love pirates too. My piratical presentation for younger grades includes an animated reading, pirate rhymes, some riddles and maybe a mermaid story. Bookings for WITS visits usually takes place in September. Due to Covid 19 protocols in-person classroom visits will not be happening this school year. Free on-line visits can be arranged, please check the WFNS website for information about this on-line program. (http://writers.ns.ca/)
